0. At our first contact, ProAuPair will send you the application form to then determine whether you would qualify for the Au Pair Cultural Exchange program as a Host Family. For more information go to  Hosting an Au Pair.
0. ProAuPair will schedule a personal interview at your home to see the Au Pair’s room.
0. Then you will review our current Au Pair candidates online, and let us know who you would like to interview via phone. Alternatively, you can tell us what you are looking for, in the education, training, and expected start date of your prospective Au Pair, and we can provide you with suitable candidates.

0. After you have decided which candidate to hire, we will supply and assist you with the remaining application materials for the program. At this time, a non-refundable application fee is due.
0. Once we have all required documents and you are approved for the program, the Au Pair will be interviewed at the US embassy in her home country and apply for her J-1 Au Pair Visa. Your Au Pair will receive her visa in 3 and 10 days.
0. Your Au Pair will be required by US law to attend an orientation and complete 32 hours of childcare training before she arrives at your home.

0. Before your Pro Au Pair arrives at your home, the remaining fee is due.

   

The shortest time from your hiring decision to start date is six weeks due to the visa application process.
